I can't sell my mother's house. Not that I do not want to sell it, but the market is so bad. So I have decided to rent it. My friend Emlyn said to post a notice at the Institute, which I did, and it seems that I am renting to a few cute returned missionaries. They seem like good guys, I hope it works out.
This has been quite the long and rambling experience. I hope to save the money and next year to fix up the house so it will be a less dated and more desirable property. But really, what would I do with the cash? I might as well leave it in the house until the market improves, or there are better places to put it.
I am really wondering about the future of the USA. People are so polarized and the level of discourse is so loud, mean and selfish. Why can't everyone start on agreeing about what we all want for ourselves: life, housing, food, good health. Then start listening to the other side, and stop being so closed minded. We should all be able to reach an understanding that makes us happy and allows for the happiness of others.
