I have two daughters, two amazing, accomplished, smart, independent, strong women. I am so very proud of them. They have great careers and will be always in demand for their talents. But they are so different. One wants to live amongst the famous and live that flashy, risky, restless life. The other is content to get her kicks vicariously by reading and watching movies. Neither seems to want to share their life with a significant other. I love them so very much. And I worry about them. That is is curse of motherhood: to constantly wonder when to stand back and when to help, when to keep quiet and when to speak up. No matter how much I would like to compare their lives to mine and my mother's, it is impossible. We have all been raised in different times, had different influences and opportunities. Happiness is elusive, but really quite easy to obtain: just keep it simple, honest, and real.
