sometimes a coincidence is just a coincidence
October 11, 2013:
Exactly 25 years ago I was helping a friend move. I had filled up my station wagon with her stuff and was at her new address unloading. I had put my purse on the floor under the passenger side seat. In between taking things into the house, dropping them off and running back out to the car, my purse was stolen. There was a junior high school (Clayton) across the street, and I figured that a kid was watching and took advantage of the situation. Today, I received a call from some guys cutting brush in the gully behind the school. They had found my purse and wanted to return it to me! The purse itself was leather and had been all but destroyed by the elements and animals. But the wallet was one of those nylon things that we all had in the 80's. It still had my credit cards, social security card, medical cards and drivers license. That is why I know it was exactly 25 years ago. My drivers license was new, I had just had it for a week when it was stolen. The date on the license is Oct 5, 1988. The pen still works. The $200+ was missing.......

Seriously! This sounds like a story that should be on the news! It would have been a good deed story if the $200 was still in there, but it's still a pretty fantastic story!
