We drove all the way to Mt. Rainier to meet some friends and do a little hiking. The friends were there, but the hiking trails were not. There was so much snow that we had to drive miles down the mountain to hike in the forest. And it is the end of July! But it was still beautiful, and we got to drive some more lonesome highways to and from.
I love these pictures. Some other friends of mine just went to Timberline lodge at Mt Hood. Although expected, it too had tons of snow which is pretty interesting to see in July...
